Six Years Strong: Why Our Somesuch Partnership Just Keeps Getting Better

Some partnerships are transactional - but ours with Somesuch is not one of them.

For the sixth consecutive year, we're thrilled to announce that Somesuch is back - and this time, they're bringing even more to the table for our community.

If you're new here, let us catch you up:

Somesuch is one of the UK's leading production companies, the kind of place that shapes directors, launches careers, and produces work that actually moves culture forward. And for six years, they've chosen to invest that influence directly into The Kusp community.

That's not nothing - that's a real commitment.

What Makes This Partnership Different

We could talk about "access" and "opportunity" all day - and we do, often. But six years of consistent partnership? That's not a buzzword. That's proof. Proof that when an industry-leading production company decides to genuinely invest in underrepresented talent, magic happens.

Real careers launch. Real relationships form. Real work gets made.

This isn't Somesuch dipping a toe into diversity initiatives for a season and disappearing. This is a company that keeps showing up, year after year, expanding what they offer, deepening their commitment. And honestly? That's exactly the kind of partner we want standing alongside us.

What's Coming in 2026/27

We're not just excited, we are genuinely buzzing about what this next year holds. Here's what's on the table:

🎬 On-Set Shadowing & Trainee Opportunities

Nothing - and we mean nothing - replaces the experience of actually being on-set. Watching how a production comes together, learning the rhythms, the language, the unspoken rules of the room. This year, more of our community gets that access, plus full-time office-based roles for those ready to step into the industry properly.

🌟 Showcases & Q&As Across London and LA

New and emerging directors, this one's for you. We're bringing you face-to-face with the people making the work you admire in both London and LA, because sometimes the most valuable thing isn't a masterclass - it's a genuine conversation.

🎥 The Month-Long Internship (This Is The Big One)

Somesuch is offering a full month-long internship at their London office, including participation in their legendary, Intern Duties programme.

What does that mean in practice? You get funded to shoot your own short film, content piece, or music video. Then your work gets screened as part of Somesuch's Emerging Director Showcase in London.

Your creative vision will get resource and support from one of the industry's best, screened for an audience that includes the very people who could shape your next opportunity.

🏢 Desk Space for Kusp Club Members

For our Enhanced members of The Kusp Club, there's something extra special: dedicated desk space at Somesuch's London HQ, because sometimes what you need most isn't another workshop; it's proximity. Making the connections that only happen when you're actually there.

Why This Matters

We talk a lot about barriers in the creative industries - the unpaid internships, the closed networks, the "who you know" culture that keeps so much talent locked out. Partnerships like this one with Somesuch are how we dismantle that, brick by brick, year by year.

Giving genuine and real access to underrepresented creatives, not token gestures but actual pathways. Six years of proof is sitting right in front of us.

This One's Exclusively Yours

These opportunities are exclusively available to creatives within The Kusp community, which means if you're part of this family, you have access to something genuinely rare in this industry.

If you're not yet part of our community and you're reading this thinking "I need to be in that room" - now's your moment. Become a member here.
