In collaboration with WePresent, we’ll spotlight and showcase 4 filmmakers from underserved communities - ethnic minority, working-class, disabled or neuro-diverse groups - to commissioners, industry specialists and film-lovers

The Agenda

On Saturday 4th November, join us for an industry panel talk and director showcase at the Electric Cinema in White City.

The panel talk hosted by The Kusp, in collaboration with WePresent, will feature commissioners and producers from WePresent, Channel 4 and Sky Studios. Followed by screening 4 filmmakers selected from underserved groups*

Learn and understand what our industry specialists look for when commissioning film projects, and how you can best approach it.

Submissions

If you identify with any of the under-represented groups we’re looking to spotlight, please use the link below to submit your short film (should be no longer than 20 mins).

An initial longlist of 15 will be selected to feature on our dedicated ‘spotlight page’, before the final 4 films are selected for the screening.

FAQs

  • Deadline for submissions is Friday 13th October at 2:00pm UK time.

  • Submissions are limited to one short film per filmmaker. Short films must be no longer than 20 minutes to qualify.

  • You must identify as being part one of the underserved groups mentioned. This includes either an ethnic minority, lower socio-economic, neuro-diverse and/or disabled group. Qualifying questions will be asked within the submission form.

  • Please ensure you submit a video link - Vimeo, YouTube or equivalent will be accepted. Do not submit a downloadable link.

  • This page will be dedicated to short films that make the initial longlist. This page will be live until December 31st for our industry friends and other creatives to discover directors, and short films.
